Is the in-person ride on all asphalt roads?

Yes, the in-person ride is on all paved roads. We take the less traveled roads when possible to keep cyclist conflict with cars at a minimum.

What if I don’t want to ride 285 miles in 3 days? Can I still participate?

YES! You have options.

You can register for just one day or two days.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 22: ATHENS TO TENNILLE (110 MILES)

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 23: SANDERSVILLE TO STATESBORO (100 MILES)

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 24: STATESBORO TO SAVANNAH (75 MILES)

What is the fun of participating VIRTUALLY?

SO MUCH FUN!

We're creating a virtual experience for you via video. With each small town you go through virtually (by completing the mileage to get to that town), we send you a video from a local with exciting storytelling from that town - giving you a personal experience in each Georgia Hi-Lo Trail/ Athens to Savannah Ride community.

How do we keep up with mileage virtual riders have completed?

Log your virtual miles on ChallengeHound (we'll send you a specific login for the Athens to Savannah Virtual Challenge) and everyone can track yours & other's progress virtually.

If I’m participating virtually, how do I track my mileage?
If you have a GPS tracking devise like a Fitbit, Apple watch or Garmin that you take with you on runs or bike rides, then this will track your mileage for you.

Virtual participation means you decide:
1) How many miles do you want to cover in October 2021?
2) Do you want to bike, run or walk this mileage?
3) Complete your mileage between October 1 - October 24, 2021.
4) There is no fundraising requirement with virtual participation.

Anyone 18 & younger can start achieving their mileage beginning Aug. 28.

For virtual riders, achieving your goal is on the honor system.

I'm an in-person rider. How do I get back to Athens after the ride?

We suggest having a family member or friend pick you up after the event to take you back to your car at the starting point in Athens (Jittery Joe’s Roaster at 425 Barber Street, Athens, Ga) or wherever you need to go after completing the ride.

If this isn’t possible, register for our shuttle (before & after ride): https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0D4EACAC2FAAFEC52-savannah

What is your cancellation policy?

Registration fees are 50% refundable up to 20 days before the ride. Any fundraised dollars are not refunded and will go to support the Georgia Hi-Lo Trail.

If you need to cancel your participation in the in-person ride within 20 days of the ride, no portion of your registration will be refunded.

I want to fundraise for the ride! How do companies or individuals sponsor me?
